Non Smoking

March 24th, 2008

We are a non-smoking facility. If you choose to smoke outside your room, we ask that you keep our Lodge property and our city clean by disposing of your butts in an appropriate trash receptacle. If you do smoke in our rooms, it disturbs our other guests and you will be responsible for a $200 room cleaning fee.

Our Fair City

March 23rd, 2008

From about 1,000 feet above, our fair city is stretched out below. The “Million Dollar Highway” curves up and out of sight to the south.

A beautiful Easter Sunday morning. As you can see, the snow is quickly melting off at lower elevations and is holding steady up high. The high peak to the left is Mt. Abram and is visible from our hotel.

From the same vantage point as the city photo, a view of our lodge. Here too, the snow is quickly disappearing. The eastern roof slope is holding on for what appears a few more days.

Colorado Wave

March 7th, 2008

Surfing in Ouray? Not likely. However, when the cold weather yields to warming temperatures, the snow tends to slide off the metal roofs. The result can be an interesting snow slab that hangs on until it pitches off onto the ground. The one in the photo actually hung on for more than a day.
